Ashley Nakwaasah, AGNP-C
With over a decade of nursing experience, I have dedicated my career to providing compassionate, patient-centered care tailored to each individual’s unique needs. My journey in healthcare began after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Virginia in 2010, which instilled in me a deep appreciation for communication and cultural awareness—skills that have proven invaluable in patient care.
In 2013, I completed an accelerated nursing program at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. The intimate class setting and focused mentorship of this fast-track program laid a strong foundation for my nursing career. I began my clinical journey as a cardiac nurse at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., and soon after, advanced to the Coronary Care Unit at INOVA Fairfax, where I began my career in critical care. However, I still yearned to advance my career.
In 2020, I earned my Master’s Degree in Nursing from Drexel University and became an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of primary care and specialty settings, including primary care, weight management, pain management, women’s health, and Medicare value-based medicine.
Throughout my 11 years as a nurse—five of those as an advanced practice provider—my core passion has remained the same: delivering holistic, individualized care that respects and responds to each patient’s personal health goals.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me with my husband, our son, and our goldendoodle, Packer, enjoying time with friends and family. I have a big love for both fitness and crafting, and I cherish every chance I get to visit my family in Virginia and D.C.
